Last Minute 2014 Oscar Party Ideas February 27, 2014

The 86th Academy Awards (commonly known as The Oscars) will be held on Sunday, March 2 at 7:00 PM EST.

Need some last minute ideas for an Oscar Party? Read on …

Let your guests make their guesses! Download and print this ballot, one for each guest, so they can predict the winners. After the winners are announced, have door prizes for the guest who got the most correct (and maybe for the guest who got the least!). A gift certificate to a local movie theater makes the perfect Oscar-themed prize.

Having people over early? There will be lots of red carpet coverage televised before The Oscars, but you can also find Oscar-related videos at oscar.go.com, including clips from the 2014 Best Picture Nominees.

Epicurious has yet again given us fun menus inspired by the 2014 Best Picture Nominations. From Spiced Rice Basmati and Somasas inspired by Captian Phillips to Spicy Tuna Rolls and Salt Roasted Porterhouse for The Wolf of Wall Street, use their menus to inspire your cocktails and appetizers.

The San Jose Mercury News has another list of 2014 Oscar Nominee-inspired cocktails, including a tequila-based concoction for Gravity and Wallbanger’s Hustle (take on the Harvey Wallbanger) for The Wolf of Wall Street. Find the complete list here!

After you have the menu set, head over to the Hostess with the Mostess’ Blog for decoration ideas. She has all types of party décor ideas, but one of our favorites is her PJs and Pearls Party idea! With a gourmet popcorn bar and swag boxes, this is one party we want to attend!
