We wanted to see what was trending in different cities and we weren’t disappointed! Not only do different cities have different wedding trends for 2014, but we love all of them! Here are some of our favorites.

champagne

New England: Infused Champagne and Cocktails

We love the trend of infused cocktails and champagne, like this Champagne, Elderflower and Lavender Cocktail spotlighted on Southern New England Weddings’ blog, complete with a homemade lavendar simple syrup.

shadow

Pittsburgh: Making an Entrance

We love the Shadow Grand Entrance by PartyTime Productions, a Pittsburgh-based entertainment company, as mentioned in this month’s WHIRL. A romantic kiss behind a curtain is a unique way to share a couple’s love story and kick start the reception. This entertainment group can come up with all types of creative ideas for your wedding.

backless dress

Virginia: Dress to Impress

While these backless wedding dresses may be a bit nontraditional for some, there are plenty of ways to be elegant and classy in a backless wedding dress. Beads, lace, and sheer fabric can create the illusion of a backless dress while staying elegant and appropriate for any venue.

rustic

Florida: Rustic Charm

Down south, we’re still seeing a lot of rustic wedding trends, including elaborate centerpieces with branches and lanterns. This Enchanted Forrest Wedding provides plenty of inspiration. Mason jars haven’t gone out of style just yet, and are being used for all types of things, including custom cocktails, centerpieces, favors and chandeliers.

music

Chicago: Custom Song

Have you ever wished your life had a soundtrack? Well, your wedding can! Music By Nate (www.musicbynate.com), based in Chicago, works for three months to write a custom score for your wedding. You will even get a CD after the event as a keepsake!

desination

St. Louis: Destination Weddings

Destination weddings are making a comeback. Mexico and Jamaica may be the two top destinations for St. Louis couples, but other Caribbean destinations aren’t far behind. With airfare becoming more affordable, destination weddings are no longer limited to just small, family affairs.

transportation

Oklahoma: Stylish Rides

You don’t have to be in the Midwest to arrive and exit your wedding in style. Here are a few stylish transportation ideas from The Brides of Oklahoma Blog.

pims

Texas: English Elegance

Old English elegance is a hot trend for Texas brides in 2014. They are bringing British flair to their special day with high teas, garden twists on vintage themes, corduroy suits for the groom, a parasol for the bride, and plaid accents.

bling

Seattle: Sparkles

The bride always sparkles on her wedding day, but in Seattle, everything else will sparkle too in 2014. Brides aren’t shying away from the bling and we think it’s just fabulous!

family style

California: Family-Style

A wedding is all about family (and friends), right? So why not sit and serve food family-style, like this Ojai Ranch wedding. Not only does it allow a lot of different people to sit together and get to know each other, it brings a more intimate feeling to the dinner party of the reception. Read some of the pros and cons of sitting family style on the Engaged & Inspired Blog.

mint

Arizona: Mint Magic

We love Arizon Central’s mint obsession for the 2014 wedding season – whether it’s in the form of bridesmaid dresses, flower arrangements, invitations or your pedicure!
