After all of the holiday hustle and bustle, it may be a good idea to start thinking about letting your hair down and going out for a night to relax with family and friends. Well, that night is nearly upon us – New Year’s Eve! So, we’ve searched out some great opportunities in Pittsburgh to make planning that special night easier for you that we hope you’ll check out this year …
First Night Pittsburgh 2013: From crafts to jazz, brass to salsa and everything in between (and of course, fireworks!) there’s something for everyone on the schedule for this year’s First Night celebration downtown, presented by Highmark. Check out the First Night Pittsburgh website for all the goings-on, whether just for you and your sweetie or for the whole family to enjoy.
Gateway Clipper Cruises: With three New Year’s cruises setting sail on the 31st, there’s surely something for everyone without all of the hassle of fighting traffic or looking for a place to sit at your crowded local watering hole. There is the NYE DJ Dance (21+), complete with hors d’oeuvres and a live DJ spinning tunes all night long. They’re also offering a NYE Dance-only cruise (21+) complete with hats and noisemakers for each guest and a complimentary champagne toast! And for those who’d like to have a great time out with the family, a NYE Dinner cruise will set sail which includes a full buffet dinner and live DJ, but returns by 8:00 p.m.
Phipps Family Celebration: Take in the beautiful scenery and enjoy a night at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens from 6-9:00 p.m. on the 31st. All activities will be free with paid admission, and you can ring in the New Year early with their 8:45 p.m. countdown!
Olive or Twist Midnight Masquerade New Year’s Eve Party: Party all night at Olive or Twist’s 2nd Annual Midnight Masquerade NYE Party. Purchase tickets in advance and enjoy hors d’oeuvres, light fare, live DJ and an OPEN BAR! Costumes suggested but not required.
